As promised, I am back with a review for Uncontrollable for Shelli’s Uncontrollable blog tour. I am really sorry though that this is late and that I’m out of schedule. I lost my Internet and my laptop charger so there. If you want to read her guest post about the cover, you can go over HERE. Be sure to check that out too and this review. Enjoy!
Title: Uncontrollable (The Nature of Grace #2)
Author: S.R. Johannes
As Grace recovers from tragedy, her science class is chosen by Agent Sweeney at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to help with research on the new “Red Wolf Reintroduction Program”.
While she’s excited about helping with the conservation of the endangered wolves, Grace knows this means being outdoors in the worst winter recorded, in a place she no longer feels comfortable. It also means working closely with Wyn (her ex) and his annoying girlfriend (Skyler), a girl whose idea of getting close to nature is picking silk plants and growing fake plants.
After a couple of wolves show up dead, Grace almost quits. However, when a fellow project team member goes missing, Grace continues the assignment under a renewed suspicion that someone might be sabotaging the conservation program. She quietly begins to hunt for clues.
Little does she know, she is being hunted too.
When I found that there’s an Uncontrollable blog tour, I really wanted to join even if I haven’t read Untraceable. I’ve been eyeing Untraceable for so long and finally, I will be forced to finally read it because I’ll be participating in the Uncontrollable blog tour. Shelli and Kate (her publicist) were very lovely to work with and Shelli provided a guest blog about her cover too so I had two stops in this tour. And then I lost my laptop charger and my Internet, sigh. Anyway, enough with the drama and on to the review!
You’d have to have read Untraceable first because Uncontrollable happens three months after the events in Untraceable. I will be posting my review to Untraceable soon. Promise. Once again, Grace is such an awesome and kickass heroine that I just love her even more. There were new characters and they’re great and Shelli did a wonderful job in her characterizations. They felt like real teenagers and while Wyn was annoying at first, he redeemed himself! <3 Actually, she did a great job in this novel. Though I think I like Untraceable a teeny bit more, I still like this too.
Since this is The Nature of Grace series, there are tons of outdoor scenes and actions that I enjoyed because I love adrenaline and I love outdoor and extreme adventures. The mystery was handled well and I was kept in the dark. I was on the edge of my seat to know and the pacing was great that I think my reading rate accelerated just to know more. Aside from the mystery, it was chock full of adventure, banter, humor, romance, danger and some other issues as well such as friendship. Shelli has done such a fantastic job in writing the sequel and I am sure I’ll be reading the next.
Go read The Nature of Grace series!
